New Autoplay & Playlist Features in Cub Club!
If you're a Cub Club subscriber, you're going to love the newest additions to our website - autoplay and playlists. Our goal with these new features was to make life easier for teachers and parents and we think we've done just that - so read on to learn all about it!
Activate Autoplay!
The first feature you'll find at the top of any set of videos is a new ‘Autoplay’ button. It's a simple toggle on/off and does exactly what it says on the box - it will autoplay the entire list of videos. Want to watch all five episodes of Finger Gym in a row? Or practice Skip Counting by twos, fives and tens? Autoplay makes it so easy to set up an extended play of Pevan & Sarah videos without having to rush back to the computer every few minutes to hit play on the next video. If you've ever had our videos on for your students during an indoor recess or for your child while you're trying to cook dinner, you're going to love this simple but effective feature.
Look for the autoplay button at the top of the video on the right hand side.
Your ‘Favourites’ is now a custom playlist!
Let's think through your typical teaching day. Maybe you want some relaxing music playing as your students walk through the door. Then get the kids on the floor for a round of the Morning Song, followed by a rendition of Months of the Year. Writing lesson next? Queue up an episode of Sentences and then remind your students to use their correct Pencil Grip. Maths after recess? Let's practice our Subitising before we Count to 100! Don't forget about a quick game of Zoomies after lunch and, of course, the Goodbye Song at the end of the day.
However you use Pevan & Sarah in your classroom, we've now made it even easier to access the videos you love the most. Any video you add to your Favourites will become part of your own custom playlist that you can mix, match and rearrange to suit your teaching day. And with the new autoplay feature, you can set up your own mix of videos to play automatically for as long as you need it.
Check out the screenshots below for instructions on how to use this feature.
1. Add videos to your favourites by clicking the star underneath the video.
2. Navigate to the Favourites tab.
3. Rearrange videos by clicking and dragging the three lines to the left of the video thumbnail.
4. Remove videos from your Favourites by clicking the three dots to the right of the video title.
5. Click the orange play button to play your Favourites playlist. You can also find it in the playlists bar any time you navigate to a video page.
Curated compilations for every occasion!
Can you tell by now that we're a little bit excited about our autoplay feature? It also happens to work really well with the eight new playlists we've included in Cub Club this month. These compilations include videos that have been hand-picked for different times and purposes throughout your day. Need a playlist for a quiet indoor recess? How about a Friday afternoon dance party? We've collected our best hits so you don't have to - and who knows, you might discover a gem in there that you didn't know about! Read on to learn a bit more about each playlist.
Get The Giggles - a curation of our funniest videos! If you need an energy boost or just a good laugh, these are guaranteed to give you the giggles. Fine Motor Friday - all of our fine motor videos in one easy-to-find location. Whether you're after a refresh on your Scissor Grip or you're ready to squish your play-doh along with Squishy Stuff, these videos are perfect for developing those fine motor skills. Dance Party - some of our catchiest tunes with rockin' dance moves to go with them! Great for a brain break or a Fun Friday boogie. Mindful Moments - we've had requests for extended versions of our Relaxation Music Only tracks, so we popped all nine of them into this playlist to give you calm, cosy background music that will last your entire teaching session. Pevan's Picks - here's a mix of some of Pevan's favourite videos. He's all about interactive learning and funky dance beats, so expect to find some educational bangers in this playlist. Sarah's Songs - Sarah loves to sing, but she loves it even more when she's learning at the same time! Put this playlist on to have a singalong at any time of the day. Indoor Recess - Active - it's five minutes before recess and it's just started pouring with rain. How on earth are you going to keep 25 wriggly 5-year-olds occupied for half an hour? This indoor recess playlist is the answer. Get active and sneak a bit of learning in while you're at it - don't forget to hit autoplay! Indoor Recess - Sitting - maybe, though, you're sharing the space with other classes and you need to bring the energy levels down a bit. These videos will keep kids engaged without needing to get up out of their seats, and give you a few moments to have a sip of your cuppa, too!
And a few more updates…
You might notice that the buttons at the top of the playlists have also changed a little. Your Favourites, History and Popular Cub Club videos will be available to view as separate playlists. If you open a series of videos, such as Alphabet Jam, that will also display as its own playlist.
If you're watching a video from your Favourites and you want to see more from that series, simply click ‘Play Series' and it will take you straight there. Great for when your students yell ‘Can we watch another one??!?’.
